The day the music starts – for those travelling in today…

The rain finally relented at around 3am and the forecast for today and the rest of the weekend is much improved.  We should hit a dizzying height of 20°C.  Today will be windy but we’re hoping that will help dry out the ground.  The tented campsites are in good condition. We’re planning to open the mixed camping field at 10am which is also in good condition. The entrance for mixed camping is located at the Junction of Blind Lane, Frith Lane and Pricketts Hill.

This time next week – Saturday 5th August 2017

It’s incredible to think that this time next week we’ll be in full flow meeting familiar faces and spending time with like-minded folk. We also know this year there are many new visitors to Wickham.  We’ve sold tickets in America, Argentina, Australia, Scandinavia and of course all corners of Britain.   Wickham is a quaint English village set in the Hampshire’s Meon valley full of history, providing the perfect setting for a break to soak up some culture.

This time next week – Friday 4th August 2017

Next Friday Wickham Festival 2017 will be well underway with the first full day line up of music. As I write this post at 9.30pm, in precisely 7 days we would have just enjoyed Seth Lakeman. 🎼🎸We had our own Wickham at home, although since it would never be quite the same, called it BasyFest 2K20. We camped for 2 nights, had a Bar, Main Stage, and our very own Cheezy Vinyl Bar as well as wrist bands, tickets, programmes etc. We had a great time! 🎹🎶🎻🎷

In the meantime we have all those lovely CD's of some famous and some obscure bands brought back from festival music stands to play and enjoy. I am listening to the Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican right now, what a show those guys put on bloody hilarious, the record brings it all back! Cara Dillon next for me. Love browsing the music stall at Wickham and always bring home a fistful of discs 😁
