We’ve just added more artists to our line up section. On Friday 3rd August we’ll be welcoming Show of Hands and The Emily Askew Band. The ever-popular Show of Hands performed last year when they treated us to a slowed down version of the Don Henley classic “The Boys of Summer”.
As planned we’ve updated all our line up pages before Xmas to show the current list of artists appearing at Wickham Festival 2018. We’ve many more to come including our Thursday and Friday headliners. Our Saturday headliner will be The Ivor Novello Award winning Squeeze…
Folk legend Richard Thompson has been announced as the first headline act for the 2018 Wickham Festival.
In the past couple of weeks we’ve announced a couple more names via our social channels. We’ll be welcoming The East Pointers from Prince Edward Island, Canada. Here they are at Shrewsbury Folk Festival earlier this year.
Next August may seem a long way off but it’s been a busy time at Wickham HQ. We’ve just published our first batch of artists for 2018 on our home page. We normally wait until December but couldn’t wait to share the exciting news via our social channels.

The rain finally relented at around 3am and the forecast for today and the rest of the weekend is much improved. We should hit a dizzying height of 20°C. Today will be windy but we’re hoping that will help dry out the ground. The tented campsites are in good condition. We’re planning to open the mixed camping field at 10am which is also in good condition. The entrance for mixed camping is located at the Junction of Blind Lane, Frith Lane and Pricketts Hill.

It’s incredible to think that this time next week we’ll be in full flow meeting familiar faces and spending time with like-minded folk. We also know this year there are many new visitors to Wickham. We’ve sold tickets in America, Argentina, Australia, Scandinavia and of course all corners of Britain. Wickham is a quaint English village set in the Hampshire’s Meon valley full of history, providing the perfect setting for a break to soak up some culture.
