It was a day of mix and match as the 2024 Wickham Festival got off to a fantastic start.
We’ll update this news post from top (older) to bottom (newer) to tell you our site build story for 2024 on our brand new 28 acres of flat and well-drained grassland. Don’t forget to follow our Facebook page to get the very latest news and more photos. It really is an exciting task having a new site to construct what we think will be a huge improvement to previous years. The weather is looking perfect too, plenty of sun but no heatwave … the ideal weather for a festival.
We’ve just added stage times for our Quay West, Acoustic, and Twisted Tearooms Stages to our line up page. These smaller stages are the place to see the very best local artists and the wealth of talented musicians we have right here on our doorstep. Wickham Festival has always been about supporting local artists and promoting our part of the world.

We’re delighted to say that our late night comedy is returning to Wickham Festival this summer from Thursday through to Saturday. The comedy will start after music on the main stages finishes at 23.00. There’s also late-night storytelling and other entertainment until the arena closes at 01.00.

Great news! In the last few days, the Premises Licence for our wonderful new Festival site has been approved by Winchester City Council. We now have 28 acres of flat and well-drained grassland for our arena with much better pedestrian and vehicle access than ever before. No more long walks from campsites to arena. No more slippery slopes to negotiate. And hopefully no more mud! Our new arena field is so much better in every way. These photos taken last week show how lovely our new arena field is.

It’s been a busy and productive fortnight at Wickham HQ with 10 new bookings confirmed since we announced the legendary Suzi Quatro will be headlining our Friday night. She will be joined on Friday 2nd August by Ranagri, The Spooky Men’s Chorale, Sarah Smout, and The Longest Johns. This will be a Wickham debut for the award-winning English/Irish folk band Ranagri.

Drum roll please … the iconic Suzi Quatro will be headlining Wickham Festival on Friday 2nd August 2023. We really are over the moon to welcome Suzi and her fantastic band to the Wickham stage. We’re sure this will be one to remember!
Her huge hit, Can the Can went to number one in May 1973, and then go on to sell two and a half million copies worldwide.
