The award-winning Scottish folk band Breabach, current holders of the Album of the Year award, will become the first band from Scotland to embark upon a virtual tour in 2021, covering some of their favourite venues and festivals in the UK – including Wickham. Supported by grant funding from Creative Scotland, they have teamed up with BAFTA winning animator Cat Bruce to create a unique performance for a virtual tour between 11th February and 6th March 2021. Each of the five band members has written brand new music, which has been set to a new animation – Dùsgadh – specifically created for the tour.

Hello and a Happy New Year! Let’s hope that with the roll-out of the vaccine, 2021 is a much better year than 2020. Certainly the prospects for our Festival being staged as normal next August look much, much better than they did a few weeks ago.
With the good news on vaccines it looks much more likely that festivals and other outdoor events will be able to take place as planned next summer. Our own plans are well-advanced. 53 of the 55 main stage artists booked for 2020 are now confirmed for 2021 and we’ve added Lindisfarne and Scottish fiddle ace Duncan Chisholm to our 2021 line-up which can be viewed here.
We should have been enjoying the first evening at Wickham Festival 2020 right now with Spike’s All-Stars about to take to the stage as our opening headliners. Just to rub it in we’re forecast a glorious weekend of sunshine over this weekend.

Dear Friends,
Firstly, we’d like to say a huge thank you for your patience and support while we’ve been navigating our way through this very difficult time – it really does mean so much to all our Wickham Festival Team.
With the sun shining, lockdown easing, open-air markets & other venues opening, we thought you might like an update on this year’s Wickham Festival.
First & foremost, the health & safety of all our artists, audience, staff & suppliers along with our local Wickham community must come first. Our Festival can only go-ahead if it’s felt safe for it do so in 10 weeks time.

Hello! The Prime Minister has announced the closure of all public entertainment venues for the foreseeable future. Assuming this ban is relaxed at some point before early August the Wickham Festival will be ON. Given our August dates are still 20 weeks away we hope the peak of the pandemic will be over by then and you will be able to leave your homes and enjoy yourselves again listening to the likes of Van Morrison, The Waterboys and many more.
Van Morrison is to headline this year’s Wickham Festival. Continue reading “Van Morrison confirmed for Wickham Festival”
