Wickham Festival News

Thank you to all our supporters!

We should have been enjoying the first evening at Wickham Festival 2020 right now with Spike’s All-Stars about to take to the stage as our opening headliners. Just to rub it in we’re forecast a glorious weekend of sunshine over this weekend.

Rather than dwell on what could have been we’d like to thank all the wonderful people that have supported us, both by attending our festival over the years and especially over the last few weeks via our Crowdfunder campaign. Reading your messages of support and seeing the total continue to increase gives us huge motivation and a feeling of pride. At time of writing a whopping £21,560 has been raised!

We are so, so grateful for all your support. The Crowdfunder is still open – we’re now hoping to hit our stretch target of £30k which will help secure the future of our Festival for many years to come. There are some fantastic rewards for all who contribute ranging from festival goodies to your own bar or luxury loo at next year’s Festival.

Wonderful people enjoying the sunset at Wickham Festival 2018.

Thank you also to all of you who have chosen to rollover your 2020 tickets to 2021. That too is a huge help to us at this difficult time. To those of you who have sought a refund, please bear with us. We have already processed around 50% of the refund requests but it’s a big task for one volunteer so please be patient. We hope to process all remaining refund requests within the next 7-10 days.

We’re delighted to say that almost all our 2020 artists are now confirmed for 2021. Our 2021 dates are Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th August 2021. The full line-up can be viewed here. Day & Weekend Season Tickets are now on sale at bargain 2020 prices for a limited time.

We know via our Facebook page that some of you are even staging your own garden based *Stay-at-Wick-home* festival. We hope you all have a fabulous weekend, stay safe, stay positive … and we’ll see you this time next year!

Finally over the last few months we’ve been posting some videos from Wickham Festival 2019 so please check out our YouTube channel.

Were very sorry to hear that Steve Harley has died. He appeared many times at Wickham, usually with his own band but also with Spike Edneys SAS Band. He always gave a great show and was always a pleasure to work with. Were so sad to hear of his passing and extend our deepest sympathies to his family.

Here's a backstage interview which Steve gave to our Festival Press Officer Graham Hiley in 2018. It's a great interview. Do give it a listen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJh3FjE2Vro

Very sad to hear this. Loved seeing him at Wickham.

We saw him at Wickham he was brilliant despite having to sit for the performance as he had leg or hip problems! Didn't affect the energy of his set! Sad loss!

Heartbreaking news; Steve’s music has been ( and will remain) very much a part of our lives. Our thoughts are with his family. RIP Steve, you will be missed ♥️

So sad to hear this news. I saw him at Wickham in 2015, a great artist and performer. Deepest sympathies to his loved ones 💛

We were there at his last Wickham gig and also a more recent intimate theatre gig nearer to home, just last year. Very different but loved both. A brilliant performer and a very nice guy. Will be sadly missed. 😢

So sad, he was brilliant there a few years ago, one of the very best highlights of the festival 💔

Still hear “make me smile” almost daily on the radio. Such a brilliant uplifting song and his voice was amazing. Sad sad loss to the music industry. RIP Steve
