We’ve just added new artist to our Saturday and Sunday pages. As ever there are diverse acts appearing throughout the weekend.
New names added to Saturday are Swill Odgers, The Gary Fletcher Band, The Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican, Admiral Fallow, The Dhol Foundation, and The Undertones. This is a Wickham Festival debut for Admiral Fallow, a band from Glasgow with four beautifully diverse albums to their name.
The Undertones who emerged from Derry in 1976 went down a storm at Wickham in 2018 so we’ve invited them back. They are probably best remembered for their 1978 track, Teenage Kicks. The legendary DJ John Peel received a copy and liked it so much he played it twice in a row on his radio show.
New names added to Sunday are The English Fiddle Ensemble, Naomi Bedford & Paul Simmonds, The Trouble Notes, Banter, and The Men They Couldn’t Hang. The Trouble Notes is another Wickham debut and something very different. The Berlin-based trio is composed of violinist Bennet Cerven, guitarist Florian Eisenschmidt, and percussionist Oliver Maguire. Hailing from different countries, each member of the group brings a different musical training and perspective to the band.
