More artists added to our 2023 line up

Since we announced our day line ups last week we’ve added some new artists across the weekend.

On the Friday Ashley Hutchings & Becky Mills will be performing.  Ashley is a bassist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, band leader, writer and record producer.  He was a founding member of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band. Becky collaborated with Ashley on a UK-wide tour of Ash’s “Shakespeare to Sonnets” show plus the premiere of “Fairport Beginnings” concept at Cropredy Festival in 2017. She then played an important role in Ashley’s 2018 double-CD release “Paradise and Thorns”, contributing a specially commissioned song “The Swift”.

On the Saturday we’ll be welcoming back Edward II who last performed at Wickham in 2021. This is a band that has incredible on-stage talent and energy that has to be enjoyed live. If you’ve got energy to burn and brought your dancing shoes … who doesn’t love some reggae beats with a twist.

Wickham Festival favourites, Edward II, will get us dancing on Saturday 4th August 2023 with their blend of Caribbean rhythms & traditional English dance tunes.

On Sunday we’ll be welcoming back Merry Hell and it’s a Wickham debut for 60s legends The Zombies!  Merry Hell are a band founded on the ever evolving Folk tradition – music made by the people and shared by the people.  The Zombies were a part of the historic 1960s British Invasion of the USA and were the second UK band following the Beatles to score a #1 hit in America.

These guys are amazing!! Such talented musicians and give a ‘Doors’ experience. They also use 60’s equipment. May be good for the Thursday night tribute band slot. Hands down best tribute band I have ever seen. thedoorsinconcert.com/
