Wickham Festival News

Roger Chapman Family & Friends joins our Sunday Wickham Festival line up

We’ve added a few more artists to our line up section in the last month.  First off one of Britain’s most distinctive rock vocalists, Roger Chapman of ‘Family’, is confirmed for an appearance on Sunday 5th August.  He’ll be joining Richard Thompson, The Undertones, and The Blues Band amongst many others to make our final day a memorable one.

Roger Chapman, known as ‘Chappo’ by his legions of fans is best known for his involvement with Family.

We’re also pleased to announce another great band, The Black Kat Boppers, will have you dancing on Friday night.  They’re a hot boppin, groovin’ 4 piece group playing rockin, roots music with a guitar, double bass & stand up drums.

Our most recent addition to the line up is Ryan Young, an emerging young fiddle player from Scotland.  He’s one of a ‘new wave’ of young players bringing fresh and inventive ideas to traditional Scottish music.  He’ll be performing on Friday 3rd August 2018.

For those who enjoyed the Q&A with Tom Walker a.k.a. Jonathan Pie at last year’s Wickham Festival, here’s a video of the full show. Enjoy! Subject to confirmation we’re hoping to have Jonathan Pie’s full stand-up comedy show at this year’s Festival.

With less than 5 months to go, as ever we’re busy booking lots of family entertainment including a return visit by Hodman & Sally, the little people.  We’re planning to publish a lot more information about our other attractions / catering this year on our web site, so watch this space.

Here's another. Heinz Burt Close in Eastleigh. Named after Heinz, the former bass player of The Tornados (famed for their hit Telstar)

Not named after me as such, but I’ve dj’d the silent disco the last 2 years for Bug Beats Events at the Wickham Music Festival! 🤣🤣

There's Charles Watts Way at Hedge end of course

Hi Pete. Did you see my email. Croft No 5 have reformed!! 😊

I saw Ronnie Lane’s Slim Chance in 1976 in the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm. What a great band.

    Marylebone, London

As part of the 'other festival' in Pilton you will find a new road Maggies Farm, not a band member but of course from Bobs tune.

OK - I need to get out more! Here’s a little something to fulfil the request!

    Ash Smither

Can't remember where this was now but great name 🤭

Of course its Swansea so it may be the Welsh Dylan

    Spotted this in Partinico, Sicily.

In his home town of Paisley.

Not a road name, but Billy Bragg Bicycles sign in Gillingham is one I remember from childhood. Obviously not that Billy Bragg!
