John Illsley of Dire Straits performed on Saturday 4th August 2018 with his brillant band including Robbie McIntosh on guitar. They played all the classics we wanted such as Romeo & Juliet, Sultans of Swing and Brothers in Arms. Here they are with Money For Nothing!
Archives by year
It was great ! but it is now so big it needs a real open air stage !! was cramed into those marqee,s watching bands !! real stage next years PLEASE !!
A week on and still buzzing! Discovered the The Saw Doctors and can’t get the N17 ear worm outta my head 😂😂
Cracking short video but Wickham Festival you are so much more than this!! A taster but you have to be there to feel the unique vibe!!
Just back from dog friendly Cropredy .Guess what not a single person was killed by dog. Cmon Wickham you know dogs are better than people !!
My new favourite band! Saw them at Cropredy this weekend too. I then bumped into Sharkey and RJ on the field yesterday, they were enjoying the festval, and they spoke very highly of their experience at Wickham too.
My discovery of the festival. They are absolutely brilliant, totally got me (and the lady wife!).
Not even heard of this band, but am now following them, great performance ,definately one of my highlights x
Absolutely brilliant. Hill Billy Pink Floyd. Please invite them back.
Great band, one of many highlights 👍🤘
I couldn't decide what I made of them I initially. Then after three or four songs I think I decided I liked them. They were perplexing 😁. But overall, yeah..... pretty good. I'd definitely watch them again 👍
Tans Slambovian bio polar express 😀
Brilliant really loved their sound
Enjoyed their set but it was loud!
They were fantastic 👍
Love them xx
Matt John these are the guys I was telling you about 😁
Vanessa Sherlock x

Purchased ours this eve online. Last time we were there was in 2015 when Billy Bragg and the Proclaimers were there. Loved every minute of it. So excited for 2023 🤗
We managed to find a cheque book!! Sent ours off already!! Can’t wait!!
What's a cheque? I know a few Poles and a Ukrainian but not these cheques? I can PayPal or Google pay
Found my cheque book, the last cheque I wrote was also for Wickham. And the one previous!
Bought before we left the site!
Got mine before I left. Can’t wait!
Who has a cheque book these days and I certainly wouldn’t post cash. Shame 😞
Ours is in the post
Posted ours off already!
Sent ours off yesterday 😉

Sent mine off yesterday.
Mine is in the post
Cheque on way!
Sandy Gunton please xx
Michael Tindal-Vincent Not bad considering your just around the corner 😉
And we're off! Site completely cleared in 4 days. Now back to its natural state of very parched grass. But, oh, what wonderful memories we have of our best-ever Wickham Festival. Thank you one and all. We'll do it all again next year, Aug. 3-6. 'Earlybird' tickets now onsale via www.wickhamfestival.co.uk/tickets ... See MoreSee Less
Should add that not a speck of litter was left behind thanks to Smudger's amazing litter-picking crew.
It was fantastic and no trouble at all and I live right across from it! Well done to all of you, look forward to next year x
I walked past yesterday. We love having such a great festival within walking distance of our house and also nice to see it back to normal.
Thanks for all the effort you put in. Much appreciated 🙏 it wouldn't be here without your good self taking the time to stage it. Great times and memories. Fortunate to see both sides of the festival
Was great fun. Thank you. Tickets bought for next year already.
Really enjoyed and have purchased my early bird tickets for 2023 👌👌
Well done Wickham gang!!! At least you don't have to contend with discarded tents etc as per Glastonbury!
Thank you for another brilliant festival, have already purchased tickets for next year. xx
Was great thanks to all who make this festival work so well
Absolutely loved it. First time we've been. Great bands, especially the Saw Doctors, but I'm a little biased, and everything was so well organised, including the weather 😆
A wonderful weekend, thank you everyone so much. You were all amazing.
Amazing weekend thanks for the fun, laughter and music
Thanks to all involved. Loved our tent neighbours who were litter pickers from aardvark. Cheque in post for 2023. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
The breakdown is the hard bit - adrenaline doesn't pump in quite the same way as on build-up. But four days.... wow!!! Get some serious Zzzzs.
It was brilliant, saw lots of old friends and made more new one,see you next year.
Thanks so much everyone who made Wickham Festival a fantastic Event to attend see you all next year ! x
What a fantastic festival - looking forward to next year with Claire Hartt-Palmer, Paul Jerome, Alison Jerome, Deanna Gaze, Mark Gaze and many others!
Thank you Wickham, thank you artistes, See you next year
Brilliant! Well done to everyone - it was an amazing weekend! Do you have a list of any ‘left behind’ items? One of my friends lost a bunch of keys and would love to be reunited with them!!
Great festival. Thanks for all your hard work.
Fabulous festival, thanks very much! 👏👏👏 Look forward to it next year! 😀😀😀
So much happiness right there ❤️ Next year…
Very impressed with the infrastructure of the show. Such hard work by all. If I have one complaint, it's that the portaloos in the campervan field weren't replenished with paper and sanitizer as often as I was told. I had my own facilities but occasionally used the public ones and took my own supplies. Just a thought.
Thank you for another fab weekend 😊
One word…… AMAZING…. Booked for next year!!
So who or what did you enjoy most at this year's Wickham Festival? And who would you like us to book next year? ... See MoreSee Less
I just want to say a massive thank you to the Sound Level acoustic stage for having us play on the Sunday afternoon. The crowd were incredible and so supportive of my music. It was amazing meeting and chatting with some of you afterwards too. Thank you to every one of you for cheering, clapping, joining in and for buying cds. All the acts I saw there were incredible and I really hope we get to return as a bigger band next year. <3
The Men They Couldn’t Hang were awesome as were Dhol Foundation
I liked all the bands others have already mentioned, but wanted to also specifically highlight how great it was to have a variety of youth bands from St Vincent College appearing. They were all really confident, enthusiastic and energetic and it was a brilliant idea to have them play two or three songs before handing over to the next group. More of this apparoach in the mornings would be fabulous!
The Men They Couldn’t Hang were amazing. Would love to see them again next year. Also you should get Robb Johnson (Official) to perform. He’s brilliant.
10cc. Dhol Foundation. Spooky Mens Coral society. Show of Hands. Gary Stewart's Graceland were great last year.
Grace Petrie, The Celtic Social Club, Dhol Foundation, Steve Wickham, Ferocious Dog, they were all fantastic!
Thanks to everyone who has mentioned us it’s quite a thrill! We love Wickham and if we do get that phone call from Peter, thanks for your help!
Skinny Lister were great. And Will Varley is amazing but put him on a bigger time slot please. Get Frank Turner back! Book Vri and Calan next year 🙂 , Gavin Osborn, Nick Parker, Three Daft Monkeys, Gaz Brookfield. How about booking Newton Faulkner? Oh and the Dhol Foundation were just awesome! Not what I expected from the listing, blew everyone away 🙂 only wish I could have stayed for more of the festival.
3 Daft Monkeys Moulettes. Frank Turner Emma Stevens Dreadzone. Please. 🤞🏻 Highlights -The Celtic Social Club Saw Doctors Miranda Sykes bonus! Dhol foundation both sets. Grace Petrie.Levellers Skinny Lister 10cc Ferocious dog Steve Knightly …in fact just everyone I saw was brilliant. Acoustic and Tea Rooms filled to brim with talent. 🙌 Thank you -all of you - for putting on such a great event and to all the fab volunteers. ❤️ AWESOME.
Saw Doctors, 10cc, Men They Couldn't Hang and the Undertones were fantastic! Would love to see Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Deacon Blue, Edward II, the Dualers next year.
10CC were awesome!!
For next year - Big Country, Merry Hell and get Phil Odgers back so he can do his MainStage set after his awful journey down - although his set in the acoustic tent was brilliant.
Enjoyed this year: Skinny Lister, Grace Petrie, Ferocious Dog, The Undertones, Spiers & Boden, Sharon Shannon, Banter. Of the headliners, the Levellers, 10cc and the Saw Doctors were all excellent but I'm afraid that The Waterboys gave the impression that they were there under sufferance. A great year all round.
10cc were the total highlight! Need to keep acoustic stage too. The South (former beautiful south) Alison Moyet
Fleetwood Bac for a proper set would be great and the South always good
10cc, Skinny Lister, Ferocious Dog, The Dhol Foundation were all amazing. Count me in as another one for Frank Turner please. Also, check out The Lottery Winners Peter.... an amazing band! Another vote for Big Country here. A bit more Ska please..... The Skalatons were brilliant Anything a bit more "up tempo". I appreciate a balance needs to be struck, but the bands I enjoyed were a bit more high tempo
TMTCH, Oyster Band and Show of Hands were all superb, book them all again plus The Strawbs, Steeleye Span, Lindisfarne, Home Service, The Sweet, Tom Robinson Band
I thought that giving the students from St Vincent’s college the main stage opening slot on Saturday was a great opportunity for them to experience working with sound and lighting engineers on a big stage. Perhaps worth repeating in future years.
Loved Cut Capers, Dohl Foundation and many more but was sad to see Tankus the Henge was not on this year ! please can we have them back! x
The Trouble Notes and Dhol Foundation were excellent. Would like to see Elephant Sessions, The Fishermen's Friends, Bears Den
Please book the weather to be the same 😎 Loved so many performances - I think we watched 35 different acts! Excellent headliners in 10CC, Levellers, Waterboys; classic Wickham vibe from Show of Hands / Steve K (SOH with Track Dogs next year please?), Dhol Foundation, Spooky Men, Miranda Sykes (wonderful late addition); new discoveries and much fun from Cut Capers, Trouble Notes and the Skaletons. New suggestions - Jump (please!!!); Jessie Buckley & Bernard Butler would be awesome. And Bears Den maybe?
I loved the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, Spooky Mens Chorale and Town of Cats - lots of energy and fun 💜💜💜
Tuneless Choir we’re great fun! 👍
Get the Quay West stage back. Less fidley fidley. Move the Twisted tearoom and Tea kettle apart from each other. More acts new to Wickham. Yes I loved The Undertones, Ferocious Dog and Saw Doctors, the Twisted Tearoom was great. I personally want bands I have not seen before. How about Jason Is bell and Stiff little fingers.
