Wickham Festival News

More updates for Wickham Festival 2017

The weather has been hotting up this last week, so it can only mean one thing … Wickham Festival is within touching distance.  We’re thrilled to say that ticket sales are surpassing anything we’ve seen in previous years! You can still save £20 on every Weekend Season Ticket by booking Earlybird Weekend Season Tickets before June 30th.  We’re delighted to announce a late addition to our Wickham Festival 2017 line up. The superb singer-songwriter Gaz Brookfield will be performing at Wickham on Sunday 6th August.

We’re passionate about promoting local talent right here in Hampshire for which we can thank our friends at Quay West Studios.  Yet again they’ve collated the very best artists on our door-step.  You’ll always come to Wickham Festival looking forward to our headline acts but be equally blown away by these incredible artists.  Please support them!!!  Many are unsigned but have talent that warrants our stage and your enjoyment.  This is the line up for our “Quay West Studios Cave” and “Acoustic” stages…

There are some truly incredible artists on these stages you’ll discover and we’ll showcase which we can’t wait to bring to our festival. Here is just a taster of what to expect.

Me and The Moon – Run With Wolves

Lily Garland – I’m Coming For You

Whilst we know most of you focus on our music line up, we never overlook our younger festival goers more concerned with other attractions.  We’re welcoming back the Solar-Powered Cinema to Wickham this summer (under new management), the Digital Funfair, Storytelling Tent, Laser Arena & Hand to Mouth Theatre.  Plus we have a host of new attractions including Caving, Lego Tent, Zorbs, new Acoustic Music Tent, Workshops & much more including  a Games Tent thanks to our friends @bigpotatogames.

Each year we listen to feedback on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, endeavouring to make improvements on all aspects of the weekend.  We’ve got more grass fields than before, plus more posh loos and wash points around the campsite! We’ve also got a bigger shuttle bus this year, making it easier for you to explore Wickam village.

For our *not so young* audience we’re also going to have a new Late-Night Comedy Tent at this year’s Wickham Festival. Some top-class comedians are being booked. We’ll announce names shortly.  We’ve done our utmost to make Wickham Festival 2017 an event all the family can enjoy.  We’ve been voted Britain’s Best Festival (capacity under 15K) and rated by The Guardian as one of Britain’s best boutique and family friendly festivals.  We can’t wait to get the show on the road, we hope you’ll join us for what we’re sure will be a weekend to remember!

Here's another. Heinz Burt Close in Eastleigh. Named after Heinz, the former bass player of The Tornados (famed for their hit Telstar)

Not named after me as such, but I’ve dj’d the silent disco the last 2 years for Bug Beats Events at the Wickham Music Festival! 🤣🤣

There's Charles Watts Way at Hedge end of course

Hi Pete. Did you see my email. Croft No 5 have reformed!! 😊

I saw Ronnie Lane’s Slim Chance in 1976 in the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm. What a great band.

    Marylebone, London

As part of the 'other festival' in Pilton you will find a new road Maggies Farm, not a band member but of course from Bobs tune.

    How come? 😉

OK - I need to get out more! Here’s a little something to fulfil the request!

    Ash Smither

Can't remember where this was now but great name 🤭

Of course its Swansea so it may be the Welsh Dylan

    Spotted this in Partinico, Sicily.

In his home town of Paisley.

Not a road name, but Billy Bragg Bicycles sign in Gillingham is one I remember from childhood. Obviously not that Billy Bragg!
