Wickham Festival News

It’s just one week until the music starts at Wickham Festival 2018!

It’s just a week to the start of this year’s Wickham Festival and today we’ve been onsite all day on the hottest day of the year so far.  It’s been blazing sunshine as we commence our 2018 site build.  Phew … it’s been a scorcher!

Just a week to go and we have just started the long hot job of setting up the site ready to welcome you all.

Don’t forget that whilst we share our images of getting everything ready, you can do the same here with #wickhamfestival.  How are your preparations going?

This time next week the legendary rock icon and the original Cockney Rebel, Steve Harley, will be making it a summer night to remember on our Main Stage 1 – The Valley Stage.  As he says … here comes the sun…

Earlier today this is how the stage looked, we’ve a little way to go yet!

This time next week this will be a Big Top… and you will all be dancing under it.

Whilst over on our other main stage we welcome back our bhangra based house band The Dhol Foundation!  After several daytime appearances at Wickham we thought we’d ask them to headline on Thursday evening for something a little different.  If you can dance with such energy during the day, let’s see what happens after an ale or two. In case you need reminding of last year…

Campsite Opening Times

Our campsites will open from 12 noon to 9pm next Wednesday and from 10am onwards on Thursday. Please note there is a new entrance directly off the Winchester Road for the tented camping fields this year and much-improved access to the caravans & motorhomes camping fields off Blind Lane. We’ve done our utmost to make your journey into the festival much better than last year.  Please follow the signs on arrival.

With wall-to-wall sunshine forecast for next weekend, tickets are selling fast.

Important Information for Campers

Please have your camping ticket ready for inspection on arrival plus a day or weekend Festival ticket. You will not be allowed access to the campsites unless you have a camping ticket and a ticket for at least one day of the Festival.

Arena Opening

Our main Arena will open at 4pm next Thursday with music starting at 4.30. The Box Office will be open from 12 noon for wristband exchange and the purchase of Festival programmes (and our lovely 2018 Festival t-shirts).

We can’t wait and are on a mission to make this year the best one yet.  Happy times ahead Wickham!

    Grass or stubble ?

Ben Livings Adam Curtis no more spiky field! 👍🏼

Brilliant 👍 I’ve camped and glamped and love both ! Glamping this year, the farm shop is seriously amazing for everything xx

Cool me and my van wont get stuck then😉

Excellent news, certainly won't miss the stubble!

Best news, would still come anyway despite whatever the weather throws at you

    Hurrah 👍😊

    Wonderful news, whoop whoop

Good news, will come back now, the rain +++++ plus mud year put us off for ever

Nick Lund Diane Murley Andrew Bowmer didn’t realise there was a risk of not camping on grass! Sorted it seems

That will be great. Just hope you have put in a few more water taps 🤞

So disappointed I’m working all weekend this year so unable to attend. Last years was our first. I’m a festival veteran and can honestly say that wickham is one of the best out there. Brilliant weekend

    David Bishop those steps !

Never been to Wickham festival do they have hookup.

    Yay !

That's brilliant news. Will be using our new (to us) motorhome this year after 6 Wickham Festivals in a tent and wasn't looking forward to parking on stubble. Grass will be much better. Thank you.

    Yay !!

And one of the best line ups for years.

That's brilliant news ! Cracked the front of my caravan last year in that ploughed field 😞

I recognise those steps. In fact I think I can see my tent!!

    Mixed camping too im hoping

Great news, Wickham Music Festival, could you please display a map showing location of new camping fields, many thanks.

Will there be mixed camping -motorhomes and tents together?

    Brilliant! Better than ploughed fields.

    That’s a huge improvement, thanks!

It's a great smallish festival, but really needs to be renamed 'Chairfest' 🤪🤣

Fantastic festival, wonderful music and so brilliantly inclusive - families, children, all ages and abilities and those unable to stand for long periods for whatever reason! Thank you Wickham, you’ve got it just right!
