Wickham Festival News

We’re delighted to announce our Late-Night Comedy line-up for this year’s Wickham Music Festival

We’re delighted to confirm that comedy is returning to Wickham Festival for 2023. This will start after music on the main stages finishes at 23.00. Mike Cox will be the MC for all nights on our comedy stage (Thursday through to Saturday). Mike has been performing comedy since 2011 and quickly made his mark on the comedy scene with his sharp-witted observational style which saw him crowned South Coast Comedian of the Year in 2014.

On Thursday we welcome Paul McCaffrey, a local lad who has recently been seen on Live At The Apollo and embarked on a nationwide tour of his brilliant show, Lemon. He will be joined by Joe Wells, a comedian and writer based in Portsmouth whose video ‘Having a non-autistic brother’ has over 2.5m views online.

On Friday Dan Evans and Karen Bayley will be entertaining us. Karen is delightfully saucy with friendly and confident stage presence that is combined with a killer wit. Dan has appeared on BBC 2’s Brain Candy, Channel 5 at The Store, The Channel 5 Comedy Zone, the Radio 2 Stand Up Show and 28 acts in 28 minutes on Radio 4.

On Saturday we welcome Paul Cox who as supported Hal Cruttenden, Paul McCaffrey and Esther Manito on tour and appeared at the Byline Festival and Victorious in his home town of Portsmouth. He will be joined by Raymond and Mr Timpkins. Lightning fast choreography meets uber swift editing in a fantasmagorical collision of quality entertainment.
