We really appreciate all the blogs people post of their visit to Wickham Festival on our Facebook Page. England doesn’t get more picturesque than Wickham, forget the Lake District … we’ve got all the countryside you’d want right here! A particular thanks to Smudger, with his passion for nature and ecology. You can read his visit to Wickham Festival 2016 here.
Not only is there some great photography of the nature on our doorstep but also some local historical context. The “Meon Valley Trail” just next to our festival site follows an old railway line cut in the 1960s as part of the Beeching Cuts. A perfect stroll into nature away from the madness of a music festival! We’ll have to plot this walk somehow on Google Maps. Any takers? Or more local walks? Thank you Smudger, hopefully you’ve inspired some morning family hikes next August to counter the beers and burgers!
