As a veteran performer at all the early August big festivals - Cambridge, Sidmouth and Wickham, the only regular for me now is Wickham. Slightly mysterious why Cambridge has cancelled but I suspect we’ll never know the full story. Very glad that Wickham has weathered so many (literal) storms and come up smiling! Keep up the good work Peter Chegwyn.
They are saying it will be back in 2026, after a rethink. There have been issues since the local council took it over, and a couple of years ago they severed links with the local folk clubs, which was a spectacular own goal. Hopefully it will be back and true to its roots.
