There’s fantastic music across our weekend but as you know we always try to offer plenty of choice at Wickham. With the success of last year’s spoken word shows and particularly local TV legend, Fred Dinenage, we’ve brought them back for this year.
On Friday 1st August there is an audience with Jim Cregan, co-author of many of Rod Stewart’s greatest hits and also a member of Cockney Rebel & Family. He is a former husband of the singer Linda Lewis and worked with her as a record producer. He has also worked with The Quireboys, Glass Tiger, Katie Melua and formed Farm Dogs with Bernie Taupin. Jim will chat about his lengthy career in music with TV & radio presenter Alex Dyke.

On Saturday 2nd August we’re delighted to say that following his hugely successful ‘in conversation’ talk last year, legendary TV presenter Fred Dinenage is returning to Wickham. Fred started his career at Southern Television in 1964 as a presenter on Three Go Round, a part-networked children’s programme, alongside actress Diane Keen. He then moved into local news and sports presenting. Fred will be talking about his 60 year career in television ‘bloopers and all’. Expect some fascinating stories and hilarious anecdotes.

On Sunday 3rd August we welcome singer, musician & composer Ray Dorset, founder of the band Mungo Jerry and composer of their No. 1 hit In The Summertime. Mungo Jerry had nine charting singles in the UK, including two number ones. He will be interviewed about his 50 year musical career by TV & radio presenter Alex Dyke.
We’d also like to say a quick thank you to Palm Bay Guitars who are donating the guitar for the charity raffle this year. Founded in 1991 with its initial production in Hampshire, they are known for their high build quality so we couldn’t be happier!
We look forward to seeing everyone in 2 weeks time!
