Sadly itβs not going to be a Show of Hands reformation, but Wickham Festival 2025 will delight our many SOH fans. With them announcing they will no longer tour together, their Full Circle tour marked their final performance before taking an indefinite break. So it will be great to have Steve Knightley, Phil Beer, and long-time bassist collaborator Miranda Sykes all taking to the stage this year!
With Steve and Miranda both performing on the Friday, yet Phil on the Sunday we wonβt get a hoped for performance together π Either way itβs fantastic to have all 3 colleagues over our weekend this summer as all SOH members have become real crowd favourites at Wickham over the years.
Steve was born in Southhampton so can even be considered a local lad! Here he is performing Song for Wickham at Wickham Festival 2022.
Steve Knightley performed his Song For Wickham with a community choir. Commissioned by the Parish Council, the idea for a song for Wickham arose as the village was looking towards a new decade with changes ahead, 2020 also marked the 900th anniversary of St Nicholas Church.
As a bonus in addition to his solo set, Phil Beer will also be at joining Reg Meuross to perform Fire and Dust – A Woody Guthrie Story. This is a journey into the heart and soul of one of America’s finest folk musicians.
In more great news Canadian singer-songwriter Tara MacLean will finally make her Wickham Festival debut on the Sunday having had to cancel her planned appearance last year due to Covid. We can’t wait to welcome her to our stage.
Whilst mentioning Canadians and hot off the press, Juno-nominated Canadian duo Madison Violet will be at Wickham on the Saturday.
