Workshops and fun
We’re all looking forward to enjoying some masterful performances from incredibly talented artists across our weekend, but as ever there are plenty of ways to get involved and be a little creative yourself. We’ll have workshops and a variety of activities, some of which are listed below.
Bhangra Dance Workshop
Wickham favourites, The Dhol Foundation, will host a Bhangra Dance Workshop on Saturday morning. This is in addition to headlining Friday with their first full band set at Wickham since 2022 and a late-night DJ Set after The Saw Doctors on Saturday night. That’s right we’re going Bhangra bonkers this year!
This Bhangra Dance Workshop is an energetic, interactive session where participants learn traditional Punjabi folk dance moves to the booming, live percussion of dhol drums. These workshops blend cultural roots with fitness, fun, and community. You’ll discover the rich background of the dance, which originated as a celebratory harvest folk dance in the Punjab region of South Asia. All ages, body types, and skill levels are welcome. You’ll learn iconic steps (like the chaal rhythm), arm movements, and how to shout the traditional “ho!” on the offbeat to expel energy and celebrate. What a way to start your Saturday!
Singing Workshops by the Lyrics Singing Crew
Lyrics Singing Crew is a fun and welcoming singing group based in Portsmouth, led by vocal coach Sav. Motivated by helping children and young people build confidence, they develop vocal skills and discover their love of performing through popular music and creative workshops.
At Wickham Festival, they’ll be running interactive singing workshops where you can learn vocal techniques, take part in fun singing activities, and experience the joy of performing in a supportive environment. No experience is needed – just enthusiasm, a smile, and a willingness to have a go!

Their students regularly perform at community events, festivals, and local venues, developing confidence both on and off the stage. Please come along, get involved, and find your voice with Lyrics Singing Crew! They’ll be located in a tent alongside the George’s Rockstars stall.
Wickham Big Sing
Love to sing? Dread anyone hearing you? Wouldn’t dream of joining a ‘real’ choir? Then come sing with us, The Tuneless Choir, at the Wickham Big Sing, on Sunday 2nd August at midday. We look forward to seeing you there.
If you can sing – come along as well – we don’t discriminate – in fact, we need all the help we can get 🙂
We want as many of you as possible to join in.
The Tuneless experience is unique. We sing purely for the pleasure of it – with no pressure or expectation to improve – and simply aim for everyone to leave us feeling energised and uplifted.
There are 30 plus Tuneless Choirs around the country, but for our WICKHAM BIG SING we’ll be led on stage by two Local Tuneless Choirs.
Singing is for everyone, come join us!
