Supporting local artists
The hugely popular Underground Overground Stage gives opportunities to quality local new (and not so new) performers to play on a great festival stage. But this stage is much more than that. It is a venue within a venue and a great addition to Wickham Festival providing an exciting and iconic alternative to the main stages. It is one of those areas where you’ll discover a new band and appreciate the incredible talent we have right here on our doorstep in Hampshire.
Anyone who has been to this stage will testify to that the atmosphere and bohemian decor of this area harks back to festivals of old and always draws a crowd of devotees. Do not let the tag ‘local’ or ‘new’ put you off. The quality of sound and performance of the acts in the Underground Overground is extremely high. Slots on this stage are extremely coveted and acts are chosen very carefully by John Seymour and his team based on quality of performance and diversity.
One if the most friendly and welcoming areas of the festival which also houses the late night comedians. Expect the unexpected in the Underground Overground. You will not be disappointed.
