Wickham Festival News

As we move to BST our field was looking lush in the sunshine

With the clocks moving to British Summer Time last Sunday, it can mean only one thing for our team … Wickham Festival is fast approaching.  With that said and the fantastic weather this last week we took the opportunity to have an onsite meeting.  Our field was looking lush in Sunday’s sunshine. Our site management team had a great meeting to plan this year’s Festival with a few changes from last year’s layout including moving our 2nd Big Top to help solve the problem of noise ‘bleed’ between our two main stages.

Other changes include moving the car park nearer to the entrance for day visitors. Also, hopefully the pedestrian entrance for campers will be closer too.  Rather than having to walk all the way along the bottom of the festival site and then up the hill to get in, we plan to be at the bottom right of the festival site.  This should make it far easier to access, having already crossed a road and walked from the campsite.

We’ve also been adding to our Line Up section with some excellent artists.  The acclaimed singer-songwriter Judie Tzuke will make her Wickham Festival debut on Thursday. She is one of the UK’s finest singer/songwriters and is known all over the world for her timeless song, ‘Stay With Me Till Dawn’.

For Friday we have The Gerry Colvin Band and Martha Tilston.  Martha will be performing with her full band.  She is an acclaimed singer-songwriter who has recorded and released several critically acclaimed albums, gained a nomination for BBC best newcomer, and appeared as a guest vocalist for Zero 7.

For Saturday we’ve added Gilkicker Weevils, We Mavericks, WOB, Madison Violet, and Alabama 3.  Madison Violet hail from Canada and will be making their Wickham Festival debut.  They’re exceptional story tellers, skilled multi-instrumentalists, and together, perfect harmonists.

For Sunday we welcome Black Kat Boppers, The Band from County Hell, and our regular Sunday midday slot for The Tuneless Choir.  Black Kat Boppers are a hot boppin, groovin’ 4 piece group playing rockin, roots music with a guitar, double bass & stand up drums. It’s a raw sound, it’s fun, it’s real!

There’s no doubt that this year’s line up is looking fantastic and we’ve still more artists to announce.  We’re starting to run low on Tier 3 weekend season tickets. If you book now, you can still save £40 on every adult weekend ticket but please hurry as prices will have to rise in early April.  Don’t miss out!
