Would you believe that Wickham Festival starts THIS MONTH. Yes, that’s right, our opening Thursday evening for 2025 is unusually in July. That means there’s very little time to secure your tickets. With sales at record levels, we’re running low in several areas, especially camping tickets. Have you got yours yet? Please book now to avoid disappointment.
Thursday Headerliners
Our Thursday this year is an evening of headliners featuring The Bootleg Beatles, Lindisfarne, and Judie Tzuke. What a great start for our weekend. The Bootleg Beatles are the world’s premier Beatles tribute band. Arguably they are the most well-known tribute band of any band.
Friday Headerliners
Our Friday headliners are Fisherman’s Friends, Newton Faulkner, Lucy Spraggan, and Wickham favourites The Dhol Foundation. This is a debut for both Newton and Lucy, it is always great to welcome new acts to our stage. We recently saw Lucy play a blinder at this year’s Wychwood Festival. Boy, are we in for a treat, we’re delighted to have her appearing in just over 4 weeks.
Saturday Headerliners
Our Saturday headliners are Richard Thompson, Leo Sayer, Alabama 3, and The Tom Robinson Band. Songwriter, singer and performer – Leo Sayer excels at all three. Throughout his long and successful career Leo has resisted being forced down one avenue at the expense of the other two, determined to develop his career to encompass his many talents.
Sunday Headerliners
On our final day of the weekend, we are delighted to have headliners Kate Rusby and Oysterband. What a perfect way to close our festival for 2025. Oysterband have always been a huge success when they’ve performed at Wickham and we are delighted they are extending their Long, Long Goodbye Tour to appear at Wickham Festival 2025. Having travelled the country this will be your final chance to enjoy these veterans of British folk rock and folk punk.
Along with these headliners there is, of course, a whole host of artists performing across our weekend such as The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican, Merry Hell, and Black Kat Boppers. We have folk, rock, blues, jazz, world music, contemporary, nostalgia and we even have a touch of opera at this year’s Wickham Festival. Of course, don’t forget about the ever-popular Local Artists Stage. Here we showcase talent based within 30 miles of Wickham, so come along and discover what Hampshire has to offer and who knows, maybe the next platinum selling artist.
Well, we certainly have the music covered but along with this we also have late night comedy, street theatre, storytelling, Bug Beats Silent Disco, The Magic Teapot, The Twisted Tearooms, morris dancing, The Dhol Foundation Bhangra Dance Workshop, spoken word, yoga, Traditional Crafts Fayre, Real Ale & Cider Festival and much more!
Wickham History Walks
Are you interested in something a bit different? Take a Wickham History Walk on Friday 1st or Saturday 2nd August at 10.30. Meet at the bus stop, Wickham Square. The walk costs £5 for a one and a half hour stroll around the village with a local history guide – find out why a horse used to be a regular at Woodies, how Chesapeake Mill got its name and much more. To be sure of a place book on www.wickhamhistory.org.uk
Hopefully we’ll see you LATER THIS MONTH!
